Houseplant Packaging Design

Art direction : Paul Sheriff, Temple University, Tyler school of art

For this project, I had the opportunity to design packaging for a product of my choice, and I decided to undertake the redesign of the packaging for Seth Rogen's personal marijuana brand, House Plant. This project was both enjoyable and personally significant to me, as I've long admired Seth Rogen as an artist and a member of the Jewish community. Growing up, he served as a source of inspiration, and working on this project allowed me to pay homage to someone who shares my background and has made a meaningful impact in the entertainment industry.

Process

Throughout this project, my goal was to craft illustrations that harmonized seamlessly with the distinctive names of each marijuana strain. In a field where most brands adhere to a rather rigid design approach, I aimed to inject a playful and elaborate touch into the illustrations, ensuring they authentically embodied the essence of each strain's name. My approach involved meticulously hand-drawing the typography and using it as a foundation for precisely placing the text within the illustration. This way, I strived to ensure that the text seamlessly melded with the artwork, becoming an integral part of the overall composition rather than appearing as a mere overlay.
